My name is Michelle.  I am a stay-at-home mom of 3 terrific kids ~ 2 high schoolers and an adult. I have a fabulous husband and a life I love in Cincinnati, Ohio. That photo is my living room. It’s quiet. There are no longer toys or random pieces of sporting equipment strewn around. I CAN spend my days cleaning, gardening, taking care of my family, volunteering or getting a fun part-time job in an environment I find rewarding. My husband would probably prefer that.

But I’m not.

I have been dabbling in cake decorating as a hobby for over 25 years. Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations…basically if you celebrate it with cake, I’ve probably made one for it.

Through a series of fortuitous events, while making 320 cupcakes and a 2-tier wedding cake for a friend, God told me ~ yes that sounds crazy if you’re not a Christian I totally get that ~ to do this. Cupcakes. As a ministry. {Christians use the term “ministry” to mean any giving or serving endeavor meant to bless the lives of others.} Not the cupcakes themselves, the money that might be made through starting a small business. Reverse tithing, 90% of the profits to charity and 10% to me. My church isn’t a charity by the way, they’ll get 10% of my 10% cut. I’ll be sure to tell them not to spend it all in one place!

What does that look like? I don’t even know!!!! I don’t know the first thing about operating a cupcake business, but I know how to hear God. And I know faith is a verb, so I’m going to leap and just see where I land.

UPDATE 4/1/2018: I have officially opened for business and that story can be found by CLICKING HERE

This blog will enable me to share the information I have learned, and continue to discover, with anybody who might have a use for it. Helping others be successful with their cake-related goals is definitely in line with what I believe my purpose here to be.

I won’t be sharing as an expert though. Hardly! More as an explorer.

If my own small business grows and expands to include employees then I hope to offer an environment where they can discover their own gifts and talents along with appropriate wages to bring means to their needs. And if some of them find a true passion and are able to branch out and make a name and brand to call their own, wonderful!

I will have achieved all the goals I know to set!

However you found me, whatever your takeaway,

Be blessed!
Michelle
